1. Spawning

The damp warm atmosphere stimulates fungus growth in the form of mycelium. At the spawning stage, the mycelium mature to the reproductive stage as it reaches the surface of the casing layer. Fresh air is then pumped into the mushroom house to reduce the CO2.

2. Temperature & Humidity

The mushroom houses are then cooled to 20C and the humidity is lowered to 85-90% and it is at this point that the mycelium form very small mushrooms called pinheads.

3. Growing

Within 8-10 days these pinheads grow into mushrooms big enough to be picked. The mushrooms need to be thinned to allow the smaller mushrooms to have space to grow.
